Guest Author Guidelines


Why Be a Guest Contributor?

There are many reasons to make guest posts on blogs that target a similar audience to your own, including:

  • Increased exposure for you and your blog;
  • Possible increased readership of your blog;
  • Possible increased subscriptions to your blog;
  • Increased traffic to your website and/or blog.

Guest Author Agreement

  • You agree to review these guidelines prior to each submission for updates and changes to the terms and agreement.
  • You warrant that all material posted to Brown Bug (http://www.brownbugproject.com/) and/or the Brown Bug Blog (http://www.brownbugproject.com/blog) is original content and nondefamatory.
  • You grant Brown Bug, LLC, the Brown Bug Blog, and/or its owners and associates license to post your submitted content.
  • Brown Bug, LLC, the Brown Bug Blog, and its owners and associates assume no liability or responsibility for the accuracy of any information posted by guest authors and contributors.
  • You agree that your article may be edited for spelling and grammar prior to posting.
  • You will not be paid for guest posts.
  • We reserve the right to reject any guest submissions and posts.

Guest Author Guidelines

  • All content must stay within the scope of the Brown Bug Blog.
  • Your article MUST NOT be posted anywhere else online, including on your own blog or website.
  • Entries should be approximately 400-800 words in length.
  • Links should be included within the submitted entry.  If you are unfamiliar with HTML, please use the following format when submitting links "[link anchor text](link URL)."  For example, "Visit the [Brown Bug website](http://www.brownbugproject.com/) for more information."
  • If you would like to include a relevant image with your post, please attach it to your submission in jpeg, jpg, or gif format.
  • Please DO NOT include more than TWO (2) self-promotional links within your post.  A resource box will be included at the bottom of your entry, as outlined below.
  • Include information for your resource box as follows: (1) Your full name, (2) Your title, (3) Your company/blog name, (4) Your website or blog URL, and (5) A brief (150 words max) byline or bio.

Submission Process

  • Email your post to mail [at] brownbugproject [dot] com (Subject Line: Guest Post).  Once approved, we will post your entry to the Brown Bug Blog and email you when it is ready.  We will make every attempt to post your entry within one week of submission, but post times may vary depending on submission volume in a given week.
  • You may paste your entry into the body of your email, attach it as a Microsoft Word document, or attach it as a Google document.
